For Weaning Hookbills and Lories:
Use a 5" bowl with low sides and place approx. 1 Tablespoon of each of the following:

·          Birdcamp Sprout Mix (frozen mixed vegetables that have been thawed can be substituted). Indian Ringnecks love whole kernel corn in their diet. We use our Birdcamp Sprout Mix (kits are available which make sprouting easy and convenient).

·          Apple - peeled and chopped

·          Orange - 1/8th of the orange, cut in a wedge - remove any seed

·          Pellets - Pretty Bird Small and Medium combined.
Hookbill pellets for all parrots.
Pretty Bird Lory Select pellets for Lories (can sub Kaytee Parakeet).

·          Parrot Seed Mix for Hookbills.
DO NOT use seed mix for Lories.

·          A piece of spray millet on top.

The key is WARM. Offer the warm food in the A.M. before you hand feed, taking the time to offer morsels with your hands directly to the bird. Offer new bowls at lunch time and in the evening.
